EPS: Four teams finished 1st?

The League of Legends team around Thomas 'Acer | Schabs' Vogel finished the regular season of the ESL Pro Series summer as 4th. They managed to just lose two games during the season and won six. So how did they just place 4th?

As we already mentioned a few days ago, there were four teams close to each other regarding win-lose-ratio at the top of the table. Team Acer was the only team having lost one game until the last playday, but had to face last years runner-up, logiX. Sadly, our lineup lost the game and finished with the previous mentioned stats - the same stats three other teams had, too. That's why the admins had to make us of the head-to-head record.

Because of that Team Acer ended up 4th and has to go to the play-off event at the ESL TV studio in about three weeks. There our LoL guys will face peculiar gaming, which weren't able to stop the Team Acer run during the regular season, in a best-of-three match. Acer | Schabs will be on holidays then, that's why the team decided to send one of our supporter to the toplane, namely Igor 'Acer | Adren4lin' Bruskov.

The quarter-final will be streamed on August 4th around 18:00 CET live via ESL TV from the ESL TV studio in Cologne, Germany. Make sure to cheer for our lineup that they can make it to the semi-final at the EPS summer finals 2012!

Statement from Thomas 'Acer | Schabs' Vogel:

"Unfortunatly we lost our last game of the season against logiX. The loss was deserved but we don't wanna see the season negatively. We did great the whole season, the only two matches we lost were against last springs' finalists ESC and logiX.

If we would have seen the endranking at the beginning of the season we would instantly have signed up for this, so of course we were disappointed on monday but we all see the big picture now. We won fairly convincing against peculiar last week and I am pretty confident my team will win 2 out of 3 matches against them even without me. They've got 2 weeks to practice now so there is no time to waste."
