08.07.2012 - 22:00 CET: Ohana,  Acer | Nerchio opens with a pretty standard build and Yonghwa is looking like he is going 4gate warp in. Yonghwa loses his warped in units already. Yonghwa now warp is 4DT but completely loses them right before the natural dies by mineral walking. This game was lost after that, and Acer | Nerchio was able to take the game! Acer | Nerchio wins HSC V!

08.07.2012 - 21:25 CET: Antiuga, Acer | Nerchio starting with a quick evolution chamber to delay the expansion of Yonghwa. Yonghwa trying to cannon rush, but Acer | Nerchio saw it instantly and it didn't work. Acer | Nerchio sees that Yonghwa is making a stargate and Acer | Nerchio starting to get the evolution chamber in order to get spore crawlers. Yonghwa going Void Rays against Acer | Nerchio, but Acer | Nerchio is doing great with Corrupters taking out most of the Void Rays. Acer | Nerchio counter attacks and was able to take out most of Yonghwa's army and forces Yonghwa's GG's.

08.07.2012 - 21:25 CET: Yonghwa is trying to do a fast DT warp in but Acer | Nerchio was able to defend perfectly fine even with canceling his spore. Acer | Nerchio takes out Yonghwas Observer and forces him to cancel his expansion. Acer | Nerchio tried to double attack, but it didn't work out to well for Acer | Nerchio. He's trying to figure out what to do against Yonghwa, but Yonghwa is defending so well. Yonghwa is attacking on the front ramp, but Acer | Nerchio was ready and was able to take out most of his units. Acer | Nerchio double attacks, and he was able to take out the production of both expansions twice and Yonghwa GG's.

08.07.2012 - 21:05 CET: DayBreak, Standard game opening for the second game, Acer | Nerchio on his third base, Yonghwa planning on doing a 4gate stalker warp prism. Acer | Nerchio delaying Yonghwa's third and the warp prism failed because Acer | Nerchio already had amazing army placement. Acer | Nerchio already doubles Yonghwa unit count and starts to mass expand. Acer | Nerchio defends against Yonghwa's first mass attack, with broodlords and infectors. Yonghwa is losing his units and Acer | Nerchio is playing amazing. Yonghwa knows he can't do anything and GG's.

08.07.2012 - 21:45 CET: Entombed Valley, Yonghwa starting with a phoenix play against Acer | Nerchio. Trying to take out his queens, but Acer | Nerchio is already known about this. He's going spire to make quick mutas. Yonghwa lost his phoenix and comes to attack with his death ball and defeats Acer | Nerchio in the first game.

 08.07.2012 - 20:30 CET: MC Takes Third place defeating Golden 3 - 0.

08.07.2012 - 19:30 CET: Yonghwa both playing standard ZvP in all the games. Yonghwa able to manage to beat Golden 2 - 1 So far. In the fourth game Yonghwa tried to cannon rush, but wasn't able to finish it. Yonghwa creates death ball and takes out Golden.

08.07.2012 - 18:40 CET: MC and Acer | Nerchio opening standard. Nobody this game is trying to delay any kind of expansion. Acer | Nerchio gets two lings into MC base, but they won't be able to do damage. Acer | Nerchio getting his third base already. MC looking to 8gate two base all in while Acer | Nerchio is making Muta's. Both looking to base trade. Acer | Nerchio has too many bases for MC to win. Acer | Nerchio destroys all of MC's bases and wins against MC!

08.07.2012 - 18:20 CET: Nerchio opening with a standard early pool. MC adds a pylon to Acer | Nerchio's natural. Acer | Nerchio grabbing three bases already and MC blocking his ramp a bit. MC made and 8 gate and trying to warp in and try to take out Acer | Nerchio natural, but Acer | Nerchio is able to hold off. MC still warping in with no gases in his natural. Acer | Nerchio will now counter attack but decides to not fully commit. Acer | Nerchio tries to see what he can do with his roaches and MC still on only two base. MC knows he only has one chance to win. MC tries to attacks doesn't go to well with Acer | Nerchio flanking and Acer | Nerchio takes third game.
 
08.07.2012 - 17:55 CET: Entombed Valley, cross positioned, MC opening forge first. Acer | Nerchio didn't know it was only cross positioned. MC blocking the ramp.  Acer | Nerchio hatch blocks MC's natural, but Acer | Nerchio needs to make his own natural at his Natural.  He finally drops it. Acer | Nerchio cancels the the hatch and makes an evolution chamber and cancels it. MC will attack with three zealots, but Acer | Nerchio able to kill them off. Acer | Nerchio will go Mutas now. MC is having a delayed four gate. Acer | Nerchio delaying the third base from MC. Acer | Nerchio grabbing his third base. Mc has a warp prism, will try to warp in to his natural, but Acer | Nerchio able to kill it off which hurts MC. Acer | Nerchio is now denying the fourth base as well, but Acer | Nerchiofourth base will be attacked and tried to get stopped, but didn't work out for MC. Warp in Acer | Nerchio main, but that was able to get destroyed. MC coming out with Carriers, but Acer | Nerchio is able to take out a few carriers. MC has a mothership, and coming to attack and vortex Acer | Nerchio army. Nerchio GG's.

08.07.2012 - 17:30 CET: Acer | Nerchio vs MC starting now on Daybreak! MC trying to pylon block Acer | Nerchio. Acer | Nerchio already standing on top of three bases against MC. MC opening stargate, so we will be seeing pheonix's. MC trying to do a warp in, but Nerchio, was able to stop all the units chasing and went and denied MC's third. MC makes his third and able to hold off Nerchio for a bit. The first attack Acer | Nerchio won and MC was able to kill off a bit ofAcer | Nerchio drones on fourth base. Acer | Nerchio takes his fifth base and MC making colossus. MC tries to attack once again, but Acer | Nerchio is able to hold off! MC pulls back and so does Acer | Nerchio , Nerchio maxes out and takes out MC first round! 

08.07.2012 - 17:23 CET: Yonghwa taking over Sleep and winning the series. He is able to move on to play against Golden.

08.07.2012 - 17:10 CET: Game two starting for Yonghwa and Sleep, Sleep makes a second queen, just to deny the scout. Great move by sleep. Yonghwa able to take out Sleeps third base and hold out Sleeps army from saving it. Sleep denying Yonghwa's third base once again. Yonghwa still makes his third and sleep tries to denying it once again, but gets held off by colossus, stalker. Yonghwa moving out to attack.

08.07.2012 - 17:10 CET: Yonghwa vs Sleep has started, the game starts pretty standard. Will be moving into late game ZvP. Protoss was able to take the first game with his first attack. Yonghwa 1 - 0 Sleep. 

08.07.2012 - 17:00 CET: Game 4 from MC vs Ret, will Ret be able to come back and win the series?  MC decides to early cannon rush ret's natural, but ret was able to hold. Void Ray, Zealot all-in with a cannon rush. Looked liked Ret was going to go down, but Ret was able to make enough muta's and able to counter attack for a bit. MC makes pheonixs to counter the mutas. MC continues to make Sentries and takes the game from Ret.  

08.07.2012 - 16:52 CET: The game three of Ret vs MC, Ret needs to be able to fight off and take one game to stay in the tournament. MC going double stargate. Ret looking like he's able to go all in. MC massing Pheonix, with a few void rays. Ret making Hydra's and getting ready to take MC's natural. To many hydra's and pheonix's dropping like flies and MC GG's.

08.07.2012 - 16:46 CET: Golden stays in the series by taking game 4! This last game will be the final one and will decide who moves on. Both players playing standard ZvZ, trying to go into the late game. Golden rushes Slivko's third base and was able to over take Slivko. Slivko GG's. Golden moves on to play either Sleep or Yonghwa.

08.07.2012 - 16:33 CET: Game two for MC vs Ret is starting on Cloud Kingdom. Standard opening from both players, but MC switches to early pressure and most likely an all in right after. MC tried to pre occupy ret in order to warp in DT's, but that was not done, ret was able to stop the warped in DT's. MC decides to drop warp the DT's with some. Ret is almost two times more in supply against MC. Ret goes to attack and take out MC's natural, but MC micro was so good that was able to stop the attack and just counter attacks and wins against Ret.

08.07.2012 - 16:20 CET: MC vs Ret Game 1 on the way. Ret trying to cheese his way to win game 1 off MC, but MC was able to deflect it. Ret builds a roach warren and MC didn't see it. Roaches headed over to MC's base, but MC did such a great wall in. Roaches still kill the Cybernetics Core. Ret takes out MC's third base and MC goes to counter attack. Ret's reinforcements get blocked by the ramp with MC's forcefields. Ret GG's.

07.07.2012 - 23:30 CET: The third and last day with group stages have shown to be a great tournament coming along. The quarterfinals have been announced and will be facing off the top players of the respected groups. For those tuning in, this a tournament not to be missed.

07.07.2012 - 23:18 CET: Golden All ins Ret, Ret GG's. Golden now moves on with his group meaning that MVP is out of the tournament.

07.07.2012 - 23:00 CET: Ret is playing Golden now, even though Ret has already moved out of the group, but Golden needs to play in order to see if Golden or Mvp will move on. Golden vs Ret now and so far it's roach vs roach, with Ret having 11 hydra's. Golden takes down Rets army by targeting the hydra's themselves. Ret trying to attack again, but Goldens infestors still able to take down Ret's attack. Golden counter attacks with infestors and roaches. Ret wasn't able to hold and GG's.

07.07.2012 - 22:17 CET: Things are getting really clear in group D where Ret is 100% sure qualified for the playoffs after overcoming the Korean player Mvp with a crystal clear 2:0 score.

07.07.2012 - 22:00 CET: SK.MC, from group C, is the fifth player to qualify for the playoffs after two consecutive 2:0 wins against SaSe and sLivko. In group D, the Finnish player Naama has already been sent packing after two lost matches against Ret and Golden. Slivka also has moved on out of the groups.

07.07.2012 - 21:00 CET: Sase vs DIMAGA game two both players played the same way as the last game. DIMAGA says GG and Sase takes the third game.

 07.07.2012 - 20:50 CET: Ret vs Namaa game three starting, both doing a main base trade. Marine vs Roaches. Namaa leaves the game with out GG. Ret wins.

07.07.2012 - 20:30 CET: Sase vs DIMAGA starting and both  starting with standard to late game builds. Sase going Colossus stalker inmortals vs Overseer, Infestors. Sase takes the first game.

07.07.2012 - 20:20 CET: Ret vs Namaa, game two, both players starting off standard two base. Marine vs lings going on mostly in the beginning of the game.  Ret decides to tech into Mutas and Ultras against tank and marines. Both just doing small attacks from time to time. Naama moved over to Thor, tank tech. While ret dropped his drone count to make his units larger, but Naama still able to push out and take the second game.

07.07.2012 - 20:10 CET: Ret vs Namaa, Namaa going hellions first, trying to attack Ret's natural. Didn't work and Ret able to counter attack and pull off the first win.

07.07.2012 - 20:00 CET: Golden vs MVP, third game started, Playing safe once again. Golden able to take out MVP's first push with lings. This could of cost him the game already. Golden creates broodlords and starts massing. Mvp and Golden both massed. Mvp takes out all of Golden's broodlords, and it was a hard hit taken by Golden. Mvp wins the third match. 

07.07.2012 - 19:50 CET: Golden vs MVP game two starting. Mvp tried starting with a 2 barrack bunker rush, but failed to do so. MVP goes with a marine maurader attack. Golden had no banelings to protect his third and now Golden will also lose his natural. Mvp takes game two.

07.07.2012 - 19:33 CET: Golden vs MVP starting.Playing defensive, both players already on third base. The attacks finally started to happen. Golden attacks prematurely, and didn't manage to win the first battle. Mvp getting his third base. MVP taking out Goldens fourth base while Golden takes out MVP's third. The biggest battle finally came out, Golden fungals and takes out MVP's army. MVP gg's.

07.07.2012 - 19:23 CET: Acer | Nerchio vs Snute game two starting. Nerchio trying to do a semi-all in, but kept producing drones to keep the gaming going. Snute, defends the roach attack from Nerchio. Snute still couldn't hold, the main attack of Nerchio. Nerchio takes game two. Nerchio moves on from his groups.

07.07.2012 - 19:06 CET: Acer | Nerchio vs Snute starting now, Nerchio goes roach, infestor against Snute. Snute tried to play for a timing game while Nerchio tried a late game. Nerchio was behind but was able to come back up after forcing Snute to cancel his third. Nerchio takes the first game.

07.07.2012 - 18:16 CET: Acer | Nerchio vs BlinG game two starting on Daybreak. Nerchio playing safe and so is BlinG. Nerchio did a run by with 5 lings and killed two probes. Nerchio flanks his third base and does a run by with lings through BlinGs natural. Nerchio takes the mid and Bling loses his first attack to infestors. Nerchio takes game two.

07.07.2012 - 18:00 CET: Acer | Nerchio vs BlinG started, BlinG starting with a 7Gate, Nerchio defends with Roaches and Lings. Nerchio is so far ahead in the first game after defending the all-in. Nerchio flanks Blings Stalker army and takes the first game.

07.07.2012 - 17:51 CET: Yonghwa was phoenix happy against Snute who went mass muta in the first game. Yonghwa takes the first game.  Second game Snute fakes a gas mining, makes Yonghwa go colossus, stalker. The attack came in from Yonghwa with out his stalkers having blink and takes the game from Snute once again. 

07.07.2012 - 17:43 CET: HasuObs takes the first game against Happy with stalker, colossus combo, but loses the second game against Happy using Marauder concussive shell and amazing aggressiveness. Third game is looks exactly the same as the second one, but Hasu controlled his units better this game and takes the third game. HasuObs 2 - 1 Happy

07.07.2012 - 16:10 CET: Acer | Nerchio has finally defeated IM.Yonghwa after probably the longest bo3 match so far at the HomeStory Cup V and is therefore ranked fist in his group along with Snute who won 2:1 against Dignitas.BlinG

07.07.2012 - 15:40 CET: After being lead 1:0 by the Korean Protoss Yonghwa, Acer | Nerchio managed to turn the game around in his favour after a very intense fight just to make the score 1:1.

07.07.2012 - 14:15 CET: The third day of HomeStory Cup V debuts with a very interesting match in group B where EG.IdrA faces mouz.HasuObs. Let the show begin!

07.07.2012 - 13:18 CET: The second group stage has been drawn and Acer | Nerchio is in Group B, along with YongHwa, BlinG and snute.

06.07.2012 - 23:50 CET: The day has finally been completed and the participants of the second group stage have been determined: in Group G, the Korean YongHwa and the Russian sLivko advance by beating the other two in their respective games. In Group H, Mvp, Golden and monchi all have 2 wins and 1 loss respectively, only the Romanian NightEnD has 3 losses. In the end, Mvp secured the first spot in the group by losing "only" three maps in course of the group stage. Both Golden and monchi lost 4. Thereby, the second place had to be decided by head-to-head record. Golden was able to beat monchi with a score of 2:1. Thereby, the event has ended for today and tomorrow, we will have the second group stage where our very own Acer | Nerchio will once again intervene in the event.

06.07.2012 - 22:20 CET: With the final matches of the day beginning to be completed in Groups G and H, only one guaranteed ticket to the 2nd Group Stage has been punched, 'sLivko' from Russia. In group G, American 'Sheth' has been eliminated from contention and will play the last match for pride, and in Group H, 'Nightend' faces the same fate. Korea's 'Mvp' faces a do or die situation in which a 2:0 victory will grant him the top spot of Group H, but a 2:1 victory will result in a 3-way tie. The conclusion of the 1st Group Stage should be filled with as much drama and excitement as a grand final!

06.07.2012 - 20:45 CET: After the completition of the Groups E and F, the other two have just started and the first results have been concluded: In Group H, Mvp has won against Golden with a score of 2:1, Golden has beaten monchi with 2:1 and monchi has beaten NightEnD with the same result. In Group G, the only match that has ended yet is the game between the Korean YongHwa and the Russian sLivko.

06.07.2012 - 19:30 CET: Sleep has not only won against Destiny but also against Snute, both times with a score of 2:0. Thereby, him and Snute advance into the next round.

06.07.2012 - 18:30 CET: The die is cast in Group E! The Korean MC has just beaten the Terran player Tarson by 2:1 and thereby has secured his own top spot in the group as well as HasuObs' second place, who is still live against TLO, 1:1 at the moment.

06.07.2012 - 18:00 CET: MaNa has played his last match of the group stage and has lost to the Norwegian Snute. Now, he needs Sleep to lose the other two matches against Snute and Destiny.

06.07.2012 - 17:30 CET: The second matchday so-to-speak of Group E has been played and here are the results: they have been two straight 2:0 wins, first Tarson was able to beat TLO in a TvZ, then MC has beaten HasuObs in a PvP.

06.07.2012 - 16:45 CET: MaNa has finished his second game minutes ago, at the end, a loss came out against the Korean Sleep, after a win on Cloud Kingdom, he has lost on both Daybreak and Ohana.

06.07.2012 - 15:40 CET: The first games in Group F have also been played and MaNa has hit a good start into this tournament for him by defeating the American Zerg Destiny with 2:1.

06.07.2012 - 15:10 CET: Wow, that was quick! In three very quick games, the Korean was able to win against the German TLO. Besides, it was the other German in this group, HasuObs, who had no problems to play against the Polish Tarson and beat him in two fast games.

06.07.2012 - 14:45 CET: Day 2 of the HomeStory Cup V goes live in these minutes. It starts with a game of SK's own MC against TheLittleOne in a PvZ match-up.

To notice few things, our Polish Zerg player Acer | Nerchio has managed to qualify for the second groupstage after coming on top of group A, while Acer | Bly has unfortunately failed to pass the first groupstage having placed 3rd in group B. 05.07.2012 - 23:50 CET: After a first full day of intense play, groups from A to D concluded with the following players having qualified for the second groupstage:

• Group A: 1st - Acer | Nerchio , 2nd - Naama
  
• Group B: 1st - IdrA, 2nd - BlinG

• Group D: 1st - SaSe, 2nd - DIMAGA
  

The rest of the groups will be played tomorrow starting 14 CEST where such players as MC, sLivko, Mvp or MaNa will fight for supremacy in their respective groups.

05.07.2012 - 22:21 CET: One more match concluded in group D where DarKForcE has surprised GoOdy with several pushes just to set the score 2:0 and finish the match; with this result ESC.GoOdy has been eliminated. In group C, amazing things are about to happen since EG.iNcontroL took the first map of his match versus Type.ReaL.

05.07.2012 - 22:05 CET: Group D debuted with SaSe vs DarKForcE where the German player couldn't stand a single chance aginast Quantic's star. After two maps, everything splashed in front of DarKForcE's eyes who ended up defeated with a 2:0 score. The Ukrainian Zerg player DIMAGA made his first appereance at HSC5 with a 2:0 victory against GoOdy from ESC, just as many of the fans expected.

05.07.2012 - 22:40 CET: The first three matches of group C already came to an end after aproximately one hour and a half of intense play and guess what? They all ended up with the same score. In the first game Liquid's Ret took down the North American player of EG iNcontroL 2:0. Then it was the right time for Koreans to start their appereance at the HomeStory Cup V with none other than Type.ReaL who has managed to defeat Empire.Happy with the same 2:0. Not different to the previous mentioned matches was the one between Happy and Ret who ended up in the Empire's player favour.

05.07.2012 - 19:33 CET: Acer | Nerchio has finished top of Group A.  Technically he has a game against Socke to be played but it is unknown as of yet as to whether that match will be played out, being as Nerchio is already guaranteed the top spot and Socke is already eliminated.

05.07.2012 -16:56 CET: With the game between EG.IdrA and Dignitas.BlinG coming to an end with a 2:0 score, we have the first player to quality for the second groupstage. EG.IdrA is currently leading in his group with two victories out of two matches and can not lose his spot in the second groupstage anymore.

05.07.2012 -16:49 CET: In group B Acer | Bly is currently being lead 1:0 by the German player of Alternate Cloud. In group A, EG.IdrA won the first map against Dignitas.BlinG while the second one is on its way to the finish since IdrA is showing some impressive skills with those pushes.

05.07.2012 -16:11 CET: Acer | Nerchio came victorious in the match against fnatic.ToD with a 2:0 score and is therefore now placed 1st in group A. In the same group, the Finnish player Naama has managed to win the final map against Socke and also the match with a 2:1  score. Also Group B continues with EG.IdrA vs Dignitas.BlinG coming up on the first stream in few minutes.

05.07.2012 -15:12 CET: The first encounter came to an end with the American player IdrA taking down Cloud from Alternate with a 2:0 score. EG's player is now ranked 1st in group B atleast until the game between Dignitas.BlinG and Acer | Bly comes to an end: the score is now 1:0.

HomeStory Cup V is the centre of attention for the European StarCraft2 scene for the rest of the week, as the event held in Krefeld, Germany, from Thursday the 5th of July to Sunday the 8th will see 32 players in action, competing for a first place prize of $10,000.  Amongst the field are such high profile names as four time GSL champion Mvp, two time GSL champion and defending HSC champion MC and Dreamhack Summer 2012 champion MaNa.

Representing Team Acer is the Eastern European combo of Acer | Nerchio and Acer | Bly. Nerchio faces Socke, ToD and Naama in Group A, while Bly has ClouD, IdrA and BlinG in his way in Group B.  Play begins at 14:00 CEST.
