FIWC grand final: deto finishes 3rd

23.05.2012 - 19:00 CET: Unfortunately Team Acer's player failed to win against Ramos and reach the grand final so he had to play the third place decider competing with the Italian player Guastella. All the way until the last minutes it was a pretty tight match but in the end Acer | deto managed to come out with the victory scoring a goarl more than Guastella just to win 2:1 and finish on the podium.

23.05.2012 - 15:00 CET: Few minutes ago Acer | deto came victorious in the quarterfinal match against Alsheari with a clean 1:0 score and has therefore qualified for the semifinals where he will meet Ramos, a player who he has already defeated in the first match of the groupstage with a 3:1 score.

22.05.2012 - 14:30 CET: Our world champion showed his best at the second matchday in Dubai. Winning three out of three matches is came out on top of his group and is already qualified for the quarter final, which will take place tomorrow.

Yesterday our FIFA world champion Kai 'Acer | deto' Wollin just headed off to Dubai, UAE, to compete in the FIFA Interactive World Cup (FIWC) grand final 2012. He qualified for the full supported and paid trip by EA sports on last weekend's three nation final in Zurich, Switzerland, where our FIFA star rushed through the play-offs in convincing fashion.

24 players are currently inhabiting in Dubai, one of the most impressive cities of the world. Everybody qualified on a national qualifier or proved his skills in online seasons hosted by fiwc.com. Since the best-of-one qualifiers could be pretty random sometimes, all the players are happy about their final slot.

One of the 24 finalists is Team Acer's Acer | deto, who had to win two best-of-one offline qualifiers, since Germany, Austria and Switzerland have to share one slot for the grand final. So our player from Cologne first won his local qualifier and then continued impressing at the three nation final in Zurich last week. Kick-off for the grand final is Monday, May 21th. So make sure to tune in an support our world champion, since he is the very first person in eSports, who has the chance to become world champion on PC and Playstation 3.

Statement from Kai 'Acer | deto' Wollin:

'I am really excited for the grand final. Just thinking about being able to write eSports history by winning a world championship on two platforms is unbelievable. But I know that it will be a very very hard and long way and I have to think from game to game - that's what I always do. I have to take a realistic view on the tournament and sadly, my final examination again took a lot of time.

Nevertheless I think I am in a good shape and people, who know me, know that I am able to show my best during a tournament! The most important thing will be the support from my home country and all the other people, who trust in me! I enjoyed that feeling at the WCG last year and I am really looking forward to your support. I will do my best for Acer and of course for GERMANY!!!'
